BH Cosmetics Rose Quartz 9 Brush Set Review

Watch my YouTube video about BH Cosmetics Rose Quartz 9 Brush Set Review

BH Cosmetics Rose Quartz Brush SetI ordered this rose quartz brush set from beautybay.com with other branded products as well. Beauty Bay has a really good shipping deal and also they carry a lot of makeup brands that I cannot get from Australia so that is why I purchased from them there, and not from the BH cosmetics website. They are located in the UK and have standard shipping with tracking numbers, and it took one and a half weeks to get delivered to Australia.

When I saw this brush for the first time, I thought 'wow... these brushes are really long', I wasn't sure I would like these long makeup brushes. But they wowed me!

Here is comparison with e.l.f. cosmetic powder brush. As you can see, BH Cosmetics rose quartz brush is way longer than the e.l.f. brush.

BH Cosmetics Rose Quartz Brush Set
First of all, I wish every one can feel how soft these bristles are. This is a synthetic brush so I was expecting this is going to be a Real Techniques brush's softness but it is way softer than any other brushes. The material of handle is not wood, it is very sturdy plastic with a good weight on it, and its thicker on the top of the handle and gets thinner at the end so it gives me a good grip when I'm holding the brushes. Also, I just freaking love the pink marble finish handle and it is just so pretty to look at.

Details of Rose Quartz Brushes

BH Cosmetics Rose Quartz Brush Set
1 - Large Angled Contour Brush
This brush is a really big brush to contour with on my face. Personally, I prefer smaller a brush to contouring so I don't use this as a contour brush. It's angled so I did apply blush with this but it picked too much powder so I didn't enjoy use this as a blush brush. This brush is more denser side, so I used it when I was applying foundation and it applied perfectly and also it didn't give me any brush stroke marks. When you apply foundation with this brush more liquid foundation would be better to apply with this because it is not too dense like other foundation brushes so if it is more creamier side foundation the bristle soaks a lot.

2 - Powder/Blush Brush
This brush is way too small to use as a powder brush for my preference. It doesn't hold much bristles so I had to go back and back again on setting powder applying to my whole face. But I did use it for a blush, it is good size for the smaller area and also the bristles are not too dense so it picks right amount of blush.
I compared this brush with Real Techniques blush brush. RT's blush brush is really fluffy and also it holds more bristles than no.2. So that is why I don't like to use this no.2 brush as a powder brush but I do enjoy using as a blush brush. It just really good size and perfect density to spread blush on my cheeks.

3 - Tapered Highlighter Brush
I think this brush is too big to use for as a highlighter brush. I still can use this butwith this bristles are little shorter and smaller. I still can use this as a highlighter brush but not that much enjoying with.

4 - Deluxe Blending Brush
This is not a brush to blend concealer, because it is way too big to spot conceal or even blend under eye area. This brush is rounded and not too dense so I like to use this brush when I contour my face. It might be too small but it blends contour shades really nicely.

This is comparison of 3 - Tapered Highlighter Brush and 4 - Deluxe Blending Brush. As you can see, no.3 is way bigger brush than no.4 but these brushes holds almost same amount of bristles.
And for the size reference, I compared these two brushes with Real Techniques Contour Brush. As I mentioned above, no.3 Highlighter brush is way longer and more fluffier so it is a bit bigger to applying highlighter.

5 - Dense Crease Brush
This brush is a bit bigger to use for my Asian eyes because I don't have much space to work with colours on my eyes. Also because of my eye shape, I have to create crease, so I do prefer small and precise crease brush. I did use this brush and I didn't have any problem to apply eyeshadows on my crease surprisingly. I think it's because its a little bit pointy and also rounded so it didn't pick a lot of eyeshadows on the brush.
I compared 5 - Dense Crease Brush with e.l.f. Eye Crease Brush. As you can see no.5 is a lot bigger than e.l.f. brush, e.l.f. brush is one of my favourite crease brush because its domed and very precise brush so it's perfect for when I'm creating crease on my eyes.

BH Cosmetics Rose Quartz Brush Set6 - Tapered Blending Brush
I do really like the fluffiness of this brush but I wish it is a bit shorter. It blends eyeshadows really nicely and very soft but again, I do have small eyes so I do prefer little bit smaller blending brush than this.

7 - Precision Crease Brush
This is my favourite brush from this set. It is small and also it holds perfectly right amount of bristles for my eye shape and size. I use this brush when I am blending crease colours or applying deeper shades on the edge of the outer corner of my eyes.

8 - Flat Shader Brush
This shader brush is big and thick so I thought I'm not gonna like this brush at all. I compared this brush with e.l.f. shader brush, as you can see this no.8 brush is way bigger. But surprisingly, I don't have any problem when I'm applying eyeshadows on my lids with this brush! The top of bristles are thinner than bottom part so I can apply from inner conner to outer corner of my eyes without any problems. But I would say, this brush is good when you apply eyeshadows on whole eye lids.

9 - Detailing Brush
This brush is also one of my favourite brush in this set. It is perfect size when I highlight my under eyebrow areas. Bristles itself is not too stiff or not too soft so it picks right amount of popping up/highlight shade and also it holds really well with glittery shades so that I don't have to pick colours frequently.

Final Thoughts on BH Cosmetics Rose Quartz Brush Set

Overall, I do like this brush set and also I'm enjoying using this brush set on a everyday basis. But this brush set can't be essential brush set because it's missing large powder brush, foundation brush, concealer brush and small shader brush. Also some brushes are too small or too big to use from BH's description of the brushes. Some small and thin eye brushes such as No. 6, it stained but thicker and bigger brushes didn't stain after using really pigmented eyeshadows or foundation. Also I washed maybe 5-6 times but I didn't experience any shading problem. Nonetheless, it is very soft brushes and I really love pink marble pointy handles. And these brushes applies without any problem on my face and eyes.
